The 1st Lodroe Nyima Rinpoche also known as Bengar Jampa Sampo was born in Dhamshung, Tibet and is the descendent of Choejee Drunpa, the teacher of the 1st Karmapa. This family has been in relationship with His Holiness Karmapa as student and teacher.  The current Lodroe Nyima Rinpoche is his 9th reincarnation.

The 1st Lodroe Nyima Rinpoche, father named Wang Jawa and mother named Choekyi Dolma. Rinpoche began to study Buddhist scripture from his father with excellent memory for his young age and was able to witness various manifestations of Dakini and Protectors. He also received empowerments and teaching from his uncle, Choejee Ronton and subsequently took Bikkshu vows from Mahasid-dhi Samten Zampo. He was then given the Bikkshu name as Bengar Jampa Sampo.

Jampa Sampo continued to study five major Buddhist scriptures after Bandita Ronton Shiza Kunrig and received all the lineage teachings and empowerments of Chod (Cutting off ego) from Lha Purba.

The 6th Karmapa (1416-1453) was the root guru of Jampa Sampo.   He studied under the guidance of Karmapa and received all the teachings of Kagyu lineage such as Mahamudra and The Six Dharma of Naropa. Through his strong devotion and years of diligent study, he attained high realization and his mind is inseparable with his guru.

He then meditated for 12 years in the cave of holy mountain–Nyichen Tonla and realized Mahamudra.  Yidams and protectors appear after his attainment.  Thus he composed the Dorje Chang Tungma which continues to be recited in the pujas of all Kagyu Lineage nowadays.

His Holiness 6th Karmapa passed into parinirvana when Bengar Jampa Sampo resided at Gonpo Monastery, Tibet.In memorable of his root guru Karmapa,he wrote the text - Guru Yoga.Praying that His Holiness Karmapa will swiftly return.Since his attainment is inseparable with Karmapa. He even realized the details about the reincarnation of 7th Kamapa (1454-1406).Such as the place that he was born and names of the parents.
